A game changer: the most significant investment in the European chemicals sector for 20 years.

Since 2014, we have been working with one of the largest chemical manufacturers in the world. In 2019, it was announced that they would be commencing one of the most important investments in European petrochemicals in the last 20 years, including the development of 2 major installations in Northern Europe. To support this investment, they had to develop a new organisation, including the creation of 450 new jobs.

We were both flattered and excited that a small business such as Hybrid was asked to help recruit several key roles into their newly created commercial function. Throughout 2019 we successfully found and placed a Senior Commercial Manager, 2 Contract Managers and a Procurement Co-ordinator into the organisation.

These searches were truly international, as we identified companies that had delivered mega-projects over the last ten years. We systematically searched the market, researching each project and mapping out the commercial organisations within the companies that had delivered them. We also created a detailed marketing and information pack to share with interested candidates throughout the searches.

As this is a major investment with tight project deadlines, it was therefore imperative that the key personnel were recruited promptly. This was vital in order to get the right commercial frameworks in place. There was, as a result, a lot of pressure on Hybrid to deliver. We had to work very closely as a team with Dan and Dave heading up the searches, supported by Henry managing all of the critical desk-based research and information gathering. Through the research, candidate approach and interviews/assessments, we successfully attracted a Senior Commercial Manager from Korea, one Contract Manager from the Netherlands, and another Contract Manager from Belgium and finally a Procurement Co-ordinator based in the UK.

As to be expected, this is a landmark project for the industry; we are very proud to be involved with this fantastic journey. We look forward to continuing our partnership through 2020 and 2021.

Working with a Food Manufacturing Project Management Consultancy

We have been working closely with a food manufacturing project management consultancy since we started Hybrid in 2017. We have supported them with a number of key consultancy projects across the UK. In addition to Executive Search, we have supported our client with our consulting offering. This has involved us conducting specialist research methodologies in order to understand our clients Market. His has included labour market analysis, drive-time GIS polygon creation and site selection support based on talent availability. We were able to be extremely flexible in order to support our client's bespoke needs, as a result, we have developed and maintained a strong relationship.

In 2020, our client asked us to help support one of their key client with a number of key executive searches in Central Europe. Their client, a global drinks company are embarking on a £300 million investment into a new manufacturing site in Central Europe. An example of one of the key roles which Hybrid were tasked with finding is a Project Director who will lead the programme in the achievement of the overall business case. We are very well placed to conduct such senior level searches, particularly with our strong cultural understanding of the region and what it takes to attract the best candidates for our client. We successfully completed this search in June 2020.
